I like compassion and thoughtful gifts

HAPPY 23RD BIRTHDAY KATE NASH! ♥
Miss Nash is my number one girl crush and in less than one month I get to see her live in concert for the first time ever! I have been thinking that I want to have a Kate Nash themed party, maybe for my birthday next year except that I only know of one person in the whole country that also likes her, hrmmm. Well anyway, the menu would comprise of pumpkin soup for entree, cheese on toast and bbq food for main and a million flavours of cake and strawberries for dessert. It would be at a park near the beach at sunset and then we would catch a train to dance at a disco til way past midnight and then we would come home and watch CSI and drink tea! And the dress code would be polka dots, florals and/or skeleton suits. Aww yeah!

Ohhhhhh & I just found this video from a photo shoot from a magazine called BlackBook which is incidentally from the same wonderful magazine that Laura sent me a few weeks ago because Kate Nash was in it and the reasons this video is awesome is because.. it features polaroids and bowling alleys and I am going bowling on Friday night with a boy! Seeeeeeeee..

Also because..

Make your world good and then everything else is just like.. you kind of fight it with some kind of family that you've made of happiness" ♥

Believe in kissing

“Cherish your solitude. Take trains by yourself to places you have never been. Sleep out alone under the stars. Learn how to drive a stick shift. Go so far away that you stop being afraid of not coming back. Say no when you don’t want to do something. Say yes if your instincts are strong, even if everyone around you disagrees. Decide whether you want to be liked or admired. Decide if fitting in is more important than finding out what you’re doing here. Believe in kissing.”

Dream about changing

I remember when I used to have a Livejournal when I was between the ages 15 - 21 and I would come home after a night out or after a rough day and have the biggest whinges on it, I would generally just make the entries private or delete them soon after. I even used to call it Whingejournal, Emojournal, Lifejournal etc because I'm creative like that. I liked that I could have "friends only" entries and not have everyone in the world open to see it. All of my closest friends used to have one but now I only know 3 people in real life that know about this blog. I deleted my account last year but sometimes I miss just typing away about things that upset me or that make me feel less than awesome. My old best friend is still on LJ and she writes some pretty amazing, beautiful and totally heart breaking things and here is part os something she wrote..

"I would rather wear shitty cheap clothes and be able to do cartwheels in them at the park or on the dancefloor than look really great all the time, just to impress people that I think I should impress.I still like dresses and jewels and bags, but somersaults are way more important than Marc Jacobs. I realize the only people that I truly want to impress are my best friends because they will hang out with me if I am not wearing make up or a dress and they don't always need me to have a champagne flute in my hand in order to find me entertaining." ♥

So anyway, I am gonna listen to Cat Stevens and mope in my room spilling my guts into my real paper journal and hope that next week never feels like this week did :(

I'm old enough now to pretend

"When one is sad, it is lovely to lie in the warmth of one's bed, and there, with all effort and struggle at an end, even perhaps with one's head under the blankets, surrender completely to wailing, like branches in the autumn wind" Marcel Proust

Searching for the missing pieces

"I sometimes think that people’s hearts are like deep wells. Nobody knows what’s at the bottom. All you can do is imagine by what comes floating to the surface every once in a while."

I'm working on the forever part.

Ally: I have my dessert first.
Tyler: Is that a political statement? A medical condition, perhaps?
Ally: I just don't see the point in waiting. I mean, what if I die while eating my entree?
Tyler: Is that probable?
Ally: It's possible. What if I choke? What if an asteroid come hurling down onto the restaurant
?

Very good point Ally! I really enjoyed Remember Me, sure I don't watch alot of movies but this one was sweet with young love and angsty with parental issues and totally hearbreaking in the end. Plus, R-Pattz in non-vampire form, yes please. Also, it kind of effected my way of thinking this past week re: what if I die tomorrow? I should eat my dessert first .. or maybe do other things that I haven't done yet but don't want to die not doing. Cryptic, I know.

A group of people that miss the same imaginary place

Andrew: Fuck, this hurts so much.
Sam: I know it hurts. But it's life, and it's real.
And sometimes it fucking hurts, but it's life, and it's sorta all we have.

I've been in a Garden State of mind for the past few days

The sidewalks are watching me think of you

Happiness by the kilowatt

Life is for deep kisses, strange adventures, midnight swims and rambling conversations.
Adventure is the opposite of tv!
